Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I visit the dentist?
Most patients benefit from dental check-ups every 6 months. However, if you have gum disease, a history of cavities, or other concerns, we may recommend more frequent visits โ every 3 to 4 months. Your dentist will recommend the ideal schedule for your specific needs.
Does insurance cover routine cleanings?
Most dental insurance plans cover preventive care like cleanings and exams at 100%, typically twice per year. We accept Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, and many more. Our front desk team will verify your benefits before your appointment.
What happens during a professional cleaning?
During a cleaning, our registered dental hygienist uses special instruments to remove hardened plaque (tartar) from above and below the gum line โ something that can't be removed with home brushing alone. We then polish your teeth to remove surface stains and finish with flossing.
Are dental X-rays safe?
Absolutely. We use digital X-rays which emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film X-rays. The level of exposure is very low โ comparable to what you receive from everyday background radiation.
